Get To Know Our 2017 Rolex Riders!
It’s that very exciting time of the year where the best event riders across the globe join together at the Kentucky Horse Park to compete in one of the most prestigious and celebrated competitions in the world: Rolex!
This year, we at Success Equestrian are very excited to have six of our sponsored riders competing. With the energy of the week upon us, we want to highlight the stories of these talented athletes competing at Rolex 2017. Their success in reaching this point is a true testament to their hard work and we could not be more proud to support them in achieving their goals.
Lillian Heard, of Poolesville MD, has already competed at Rolex twice before
and successfully completed the event on several horses, including her very own, Share Option.
This year, Lillian is campaigning two horses, LCC Barnaby (an Irish Bred Gelding by Guy Cavalier),
and her own Share Option (a 2003 Irish Sport Horse Gelding).
Kim Severson, of Charlottesville VA, went to the 2004 Olympics in Greece,
where she won the individual silver and team bronze. Kim is also a three-time Rolex winner!
Anyone who knows anything about eventing knows about Kim.
This year, Kim will be piloting Cooley Cross Border, a 2007 imported Irish Sport Horse Gelding.
Lynn Symnasky, of Middleburg VA, is no stranger to this event.
This experienced rider has competed at Burghley and Rolex and has an incredible list of accomplishments at such a young age.
Lynn will be riding Donner (the off-the-track Thoroughbred Gelding) at Rolex this year,
with whom she has a long history and tremendous relationship.
Tim Bourke, born and raised in Ireland, now resides in Berryville VA with his wife and brand new baby.
In 2015, Tim and Luckaun Quality (an imported Irish Gelding by OBOS Quality) completed Rolex, finishing in 18th place.
Last year, the pair finished in 11th. This year, Tim and “Obie” are considered serious contenders.
Courtney Cooper, of Nottingham PA, competed in her very first Rolex last year,
where she and longtime partner Who’s A Star (14 year old Irish/New Zealand Gelding)
completed the event with a very impressive Double Clear Show Jumping round.
This year, Courtney is very excited to have her homebred back in Rolex,
and we look forward to watching this pair!
Kristen Csik Bond, Phillip Dutton
Our event rider Kristen Csik Bond will not be riding this year,
as she welcomed another member to her family. In her place, Phillip Dutton will be piloting I’m Sew Ready,
owned by Kristine and John Norton, around his first 4* event.
The team at Success Equestrian wish all the riders at this weekend’s event the best of luck!
See you there!
